André Van Deun’s love of music has accompanied him for years. But it was only eight years ago that he went straight from the rehearsal room to the stage. Guido Eckhardt Schmidt, himself a long-time artist (actor, musician), discovered André Van Deun when he was singing in front of a small audience. He was of the opinion that André Van Deun deserved more than to continue languishing undiscovered in the rehearsal room. It didn’t take much to convince André Van Deun of this idea and to convince him to go on the big stage. André Van Deun quickly mastered this challenge. At first he only sang cover songs. This was to change quickly in the future. Soon he was coming up with suitable songs for him in the recording studio. He always had the support of his discoverer. He gave him instructions on how to perform on stage and how best to organize his appearances. He soon began receiving requests for performances, and he accepted several of them. Each performance is a milestone in his career as a singer. André Van Deun quickly connects with the audience and he remains „himself“, a quality that the audience appreciates. André Van Deun sings hits with subgenres: rock, pop, fox and folk. He sings in both German and Dutch. Fans of his performances have spread the word to friends and acquaintances. As a result, new faces were always to be seen in the audience. André’s wish is the same as that of all other artists: to entertain the audience well.

Why does he also sing in Dutch

He says, „It was just a coincidence.“ He has always been open to new things. At some point, he was browsing the internet and came across a post by a Dutch student from Amsterdam. He asked, „Do you want to learn Dutch?“ Afterward, André V.D. listened to some dialogues in Dutch, and the language fascinated him. He immediately began taking lessons. Later, he also found a way to complete a distance learning course, which he then did. Today, he writes, reads, speaks, and sings in Dutch. He regularly travels to the Netherlands and speaks exclusively Dutch there. Dutch people are surprised to meet someone who lives in Germany and speaks Dutch. Dutch people are usually more likely to adapt and speak German. He already considers the Netherlands his second home.
