André Van Deun has harbored a love for music for years, yet it was only eight years ago that he stepped out of the rehearsal basement and onto the stage. Guido Eckhardt Schmidt—himself a long-time artist (actor and musician)—discovered André Van Deun while he was singing for a small audience. He felt that André Van Deun deserved more than to languish undiscovered in a rehearsal room. It didn’t take much to convince André Van Deun to take the leap onto the big stage, and he quickly rose to the challenge. Initially, he sang only cover songs, but that soon changed; before long, original tracks tailored to his style were being created in the recording studio. He continued to receive support from the man who discovered him, gaining guidance on stage performance and how best to organize his shows. Soon, the first performance requests began to arrive, and he accepted several of them. Every performance marks a milestone in his career as a singer. André Van Deun quickly connects with his audience and remains true to himself—a quality the crowd appreciates. He sings *Schlager* music infused with elements of rock, pop, fox-trot, and folk, performing in both German and Dutch. Enthusiastic fans spread the word to friends and acquaintances, leading to a steady stream of new faces in the audience. Like any artist, André’s goal is simply to provide great entertainment for his audience.
